AP – Toyota Motor Corp. said Tuesday it is recalling some 50,000 Prius cars in Europe to modify the software for the anti-lock brake system, part of a wider global recall and the latest in a string of embarrassing safety lapses at the world’s largest automaker.

Reuters – Toyota Motor Corp, which has recalled more than 8 million vehicles around the world for problems with unintended acceleration, has decided to recall its new Prius hybrid in Japan to fix a braking software glitch, a dealer said Sunday.

Reuters – A Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T) dealer said on Sunday the automaker had informed him of its plans to recall the third-generation Prius cars in Japan as early as the next few days because of a braking glitch.
